Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic scored a first round TKO of Mostapha Al-Turk at UFC 99 (with an eye poke assist) in Germany. Then Cro Cop notified the UFC that he will be returning to Japan’s Dream promotion with a 3 fight deal. UFC President Dana White was not to happy with Cro Cop’s decision.
Here’s Dana White’s thoughts on Cro Cop decision, as he told Yahoo’s Kevin Iole:
“Isn’t that a dirty [expletive] thing to do? He [expletived] me. The first time in the history of the company I do one over the phone. He promised me a three-fight deal and he [expletived] me”…
“He didn’t keep his word,†White said, who said he’d had a two-hour talk with Filipovic on the day Filipovic texted and asked to be able to return. “He talked about honor and all this other [expletive] and he [expletived] me…He fed me this bull [expletive] about wanting to take a run for the title, and what I think he did was, he went out and did this. He turned down every other [expletive] fighter I offered him, because I needed him to fight Cain. He didn’t just poke Al-Turk; he poked me, too.â€

The illegal kick] was a mistake. Jacare calls me a clown and disrespects me all the time, headbutted me and opened a cut on my eye. If he could’ve done it to me, he would have. I’ll beat the shit out of him legally next time. What’s he gonna do? Submit me? LOL Kayo me? LMMFAO. Brazillian nuthuggers can suck my mother fuckin dick, that gets more pussy than any one of you could imagine, due to my MTV show, my good looks, and my tons of money. How is that for classy?
Oh you know what, I don’t give a fuck what you think, I’m the fucking man. What was your down syndrome Brazillian gonna break? NOTHING. Bitch ass had me on the ground for 3 seconds. Let me get my bread for fucking him up in a rematch, and watch you all cry about how I “don’t respect the sport.†In the words of Dana White, “Fuck you you fucking cunt.†Go jerk off to TUF.
Jason “Mayhem” Miller shares his thoughts to his critics on The Underground following his no contest against Brazilian Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza at DREAM 9. Miller’s fight with Ronaldo Souza was stopped after an illegal soccer kick opened up a deep gash on top of Jacare’s head that forced officials to stop the DREAM middleweight championship bout.

UFC legend and former Strikeforce champion told MMAJunkie that he is uncertain about his career after his recent loss to Nick Diaz. The 36-year-old Shamrock has been fighting in MMA for 15 years but he has never been dominated in a fight the way Diaz did. As a fighter that’s 1-3 in his last four matchups, Shamrock discussed his next move.
“I think I have to (make a decision) just from a smart business standpoint,†Shamrock said. “I can’t have another Nick Diaz night, unfortunately. The reason why people are Frank Shamrock fans is that I show up, and I deliver every time. – I’ve never gone in and gotten my ass kicked,” Shamrock said. “I’ve never gone in and not had an outstanding performance, which is what people pay for. It’s a brand new experience for me, and I’ve always been able to go in there†broken, whatever and been able to push it aside and perform.â€
“So I don’t know. Am I getting old? Do I care less? Is it time to move on? I have no idea because this is my first experience. – My only regret is that I didn’t start younger and have more years to give,” Shamrock said. “I really think I’m going to go for nine more years, but I also really thought I was going to kick Nick Diaz’s ass.â€

For the past year, there has been rumors of UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva taking on boxing legend Roy Jones jr in a boxing match. The UFC has gone on the record that it would not let Silva fight Jones while he is under contract. CBS Sports is now reporting that Jones has agreed to fight Silva using MMA rules. UFC President Dana White spoke to CBS Sports yesterday about his stance on this potential record breaking fight.
“You won’t see a Silva versus Jones fight while Silva is under contract with me,” White said Tuesday. “I don’t want to say anything bad about Roy Jones, I like Roy Jones and was a fan of his, but he mattered like fifteen years ago. He’s not anywhere near the best boxer in the world. He must’ve spent all his money.”
“I could do it, make it huge, make money, but I could have done a fight like this when we were bleeding money [in the early 2000s]. The fight would make some money, but it hurts MMA in the long term. We don’t do that because we love the sport. That’s a Pride or K-1 matchup. It’s not what we do.”

Ultimate Fighter season 8 coach Michael Bisping was not impressed with Anderson Silva’s UFC 97 performance either. Bisping joins Wanderlei Silva, Dana White, and numerous media that have had harsh words for the UFC middleweight champion. The quote below is from Bisping’s UFC.com blog:
“But I wasn’t impressed at all with the main event. You never want to disrespect fellow fighters, much less two contesting a UFC world title, but I think both guys should hang their heads in shame, quite honestly. Leites probably won the first two rounds but nothing happened in the fight.
I fought on the first card in Montreal last April, and the Canadians are tremendous supporters of the UFC. They deserved a hell of a lot better than they got from these two. I’ve seen more aggression from my fiancé when she hits the January sales.
It was very frustrating for me to be sitting on my couch seeing Anderson Silva, who keeps saying how he’s gone through the middleweight division. I would have fought harder than both of them put together, and so would a lot of other middleweights.”
If Michael Bisping can defeat Dan Henderson at UFC 100, look for Bisping to possibly get a shot at Anderson Silva’s UFC belt later this year.

Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Renato “Babalu” Sobral is calling out former UFC champ Tito Ortiz according to Dirty.com. Babalu had this to say about the Hunington Beach Bad Boy:
“I have been wanting to fight Tito Ortiz for many years now. However, he never has wanted to fight me! I would fight him anywhere so as long it’s in the cage or ring even in a backyard if I don’t get in trouble. I don’t even want money I would do it for free. So hopefully somebody will make this happen soon. Tito I know you’re scared, everyone knows you’re scared and I walk in OC and everyone here wants to see it. Your back is NO excuse, you’re healed.â€

Lyoto Machida (14-0) talked about having a UFC light heavyweight title shot to Tatame.com. Machida might have his chance at a title fight if Keith Jardine defeats Rampage Jackson at UFC 96.
“I’m cheering for Jardine, but I think that Quinton is stronger, hits harder… I think Quinton is the favorite. I think I’ll have to wait a bit more”, recognizes the fighter, who expects to make another fight over this period. “I could do one more fight, but only if they (UFC) give me a good opponent, a man with strong name. I don’t want to go down again. All that the UFC putted, I always joined, but now is time for me to start to ask a bit too.I’m waiting Quinton’s fight, but I’m not worried.
Everyone was saying that, if I win (Thiago Silva), I’d fight for the belt, but it didn’t happen, but I’m not worried about that. Imagine if I were thinking about the next fight and lose this one? It’s the same thing now, I’m here, solving some things and I’m already thinking about returning to Belém and practice my base for, then, start to worry about my next battle, either by title or not. I just need to make good fights and it will happen…When I get there, it will be just party”.
“We changed some things in the training, we started to get better opportunities for fights. My training is very technical. I’ve changed many things and it gave a positive result”, celebrates the fighter, who couldn’t meet with the athlete of ATT after the fight. “I couldn’t talk to Thiago after the fight, I would like praise him. This is a professional thing, it’s not to be upset with each other… The fight happens in the octagon, and then it ends”
