Newly crowned UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida will face Rampage Jackson in September according to Lyoto Machida’s website. This fight will take place in Las Vegas with no official UFC number mentioned as of yet. In addition, Rampage confirmed on TwitterÂ late Wednesday night that he will be coaching UFC’s next season of the “The Ultimate Fighter”. Machida is rumored to be the other coach on Season 10 of TUF, which willÂ lead in toÂ their UFC title fight.

Anthony “Rumble” Johnson pulls out of his TUF 9 finale fight

UFC welterweight Anthony Johnson (7-2) will be forced to pull out of his The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale fight with Matt Brown on June 20th. FiveOuncesOfPain.com is reporting that Johnson suffered a severe knee injury while preparing for his MMA fight with Brown. There has been no word of a replacement for Brown as of yet.

Kimbo Slice to pursue Boxing

Former YouTube star Kimbo Slice is no longer under contract with Strikeforce according to boxing promoter Gary Shaw. In an interview with MMA Fanhouse, Shaw confirmed that Slice would be moving over to boxing . Shaw, the former President of the Elite XC, could not comment if Slice was finished with competing in Mixed Martial Arts.

Sliceâ€™s last fight in MMA was a 14 second loss to a Seth Petruzelli in Elite XC contest last October. Then Elite XC folded shortly thereafter, allowing Strikeforce to acquire Slice and 40 other former Elite XC fighterâ€™s contracts. Slice had been hard man to spot at any MMA events since losing to Petruzelli, he has always talked about his love for boxing.

So how does this Kimbo Slice story end? Will Kimbo be a force in boxing or will he get beat similar to his last MMA fight? It will be interesting to see how boxing fans react to Slice invading their beloved sport.

Rampage Jackson to coach Spike TV’s “The Ultimate Fighter 10″

Rampage Jackson will be the coach of season 10 of Spike TV’s “The Ultimate Fighter” according to mmafighting. This will be the second time that Jackson has coached the UFC’s reality show TUF. The former UFC light heavyweight champion Jackson coached TUF 7 against Forrest Griffin, where he lost his championship belt to Griffin at UFC 86. Jackson will coach against the winner of Lyoto Machida vs. Rashad Evans at UFC 98.

The UFC in search of middleweights, light heavyweights and heavyweights for tenth season.

Shaquille O’Neal to possibly get in the cage with Chuck Liddell

Basketball star Shaquille O’Neal’s MMA trainer of ten years Jonathan Burke, hints at a possible matchup between Shaq and former UFC champion Chuck Liddell. It turns out Shaq made a reference towards facing Chuck Liddell on his tweeter page on April 27th. When Burke is asked about O’Neal’s tweet, he told ESPN that there will be an announcement coming soon.

Could we be seeing Chuck Liddell vs. Shaq in the Octagon in the near future? I’m guessing no, but I didn’t think Jose Canseco would ever fight in MMA either. So, who would you take in a Shaq vs. Liddell MMA fight?

Chael Sonnen replaces Okami at UFC 98

Chael Sonnen (21-10-1 MMA, 1-3 UFC) will now likely face Dan Miller (11-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) at UFC 98 according to MMAJunkie. Sonnen replaces Yushin Okami (23-4 MMA, 7-1 UFC) who torn a ligament, in this UFC middleweight matchup. There were rumors that TUF 3 veteran Ed Herman was going to replace Okami but they seem to be incorrect.

Randy Couture to divorce Kim Couture

UFC legend Randy Couture served Kim Couture (1-1) with divorce papers yesterday according to MMAFix.com. There had been rumors over the past couple of days that the two were having maritial problems. Strikeforce issued a Press Release yesterday stating that Kim Couture has officially withdrawn from her 135 lb fight with Miesha Tate (5-1) at Strikeforce Challengers on May 15th.

Babalu calls out Tito Ortiz

Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Renato “Babalu” Sobral is calling out former UFC champ Tito Ortiz according to Dirty.com. Babalu had this to say about the Hunington Beach Bad Boy:

â€œI have been wanting to fight Tito Ortiz for many years now. However, he never has wanted to fight me! I would fight him anywhere so as long itâ€™s in the cage or ring even in a backyard if I donâ€™t get in trouble. I donâ€™t even want money I would do it for free. So hopefully somebody will make this happen soon. Tito I know youâ€™re scared, everyone knows youâ€™re scared and I walk in OC and everyone here wants to see it. Nogueria Brothers offered roles in Stalone’s “The Ependables”

The Nogueria Brothers (pictured above) and Lyoto Machida are rumored to have been offered roles in Stalloneâ€™s upcoming action film The Ependables. If the trio join the film, they will be playing alongside a whos-who list of action stars, including Jet Li, Jason Statham, Steve Austin, and Mickey Rourke. Also, UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture will be in this movie too.
