This fight would take place on the same night as the Main Event of Robbie Lawler vs. Scott Smith 2 on CBS 7/26. Diaz and Noons did not suffer any serious injuries after their wins Saturday night. This would be a great Co-Main Event because Kimbo Slice won’t be available for this card.

The Main Card starts at 9:00 PM (ET/PT) at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Neveda.

During the broadcast of Dream 4 early this morning, the Lightweight Grand Prix Semifinals on July 21 were officially announced. They picked the fights using a lottery system and Shinya Aoki drew first. Aoki was the last man to qualify for the Semi-finals after beating Katsuhiko Nagata (4-3) with a Gogoplata submission earlier in the evening.

Here are the Semi-final match ups:

Caol Uno (25-10) vs. Shinya Aoki (16-2)

The Nick Diaz and KJ Noons rematch almost happened after the EliteXC’s main event on Showtime. Nick Diaz entered the ring after Noons retained his Lightweight belt against Yves Edwards. Bill Goldberg was interviewing KJ Noons and asked him his thoughts about Nick Diaz. Noons asked the Hawaiian fans if Diaz deserved a rematch by saying, “does he (Diaz) deserve a rematch” as the Hawaiian fans booed Diaz. Nick Diaz challenged KJ Noons by saying, “don’t be scared, homey”.

Then UFC “Ultimate Fighter” season 5 winner Nate Diaz and KJ Noons father started jarring back and forth increasing the tensions. Noon’s entourage then immediately stormed the Diaz brothers shortly thereafter with an unidentified man taking swings at Nick Diaz. KJ Noons tried to chase down Nate Diaz with no success.

Security then stormed into the cage and immediately restored order. Both Diaz brothers were then escorted out of the stadium by security. As they were being escorted out, Nick Diaz flipped off Noon’s entourage. Nate Diaz then threw up what looked like a “West side” or a “209′ sign.

This Main Event fight is being reported by ESPN.com and has not been signed and confirmed yet. These two were supposed to fight during UFC 85 in England but Liddell had vicious groin sprain that sidelined him.
